Technology Sales Representative — AI Solutions

Bring Subterra's AI systems to Louisiana businesses. Find the organizations that need more than a chatbot demo, learn how their operations actually run, and turn those conversations into real projects — custom AI development, AI agents, workflow automation, private AI, and training.

Louisiana-based only Full-time Apply Now

The Role

Subterra Technologies is hiring a Louisiana-based Technology Sales Representative to grow our client base across the state. Subterra designs, builds, and ships production AI systems for real businesses, and we need someone who can open doors, earn trust, and turn real business problems into well-scoped projects. This is not a script-reading or high-pressure closing role. You will work directly with leadership and the engineering team, sell work you can see being built down the hall, and help Louisiana businesses understand where AI actually fits.

What You'll Do

  • Build and manage a pipeline of Louisiana businesses and organizations, from first conversation to signed project.
  • Prospect through outreach, referrals, local business networks, chambers of commerce, industry events, and in-person visits.
  • Run discovery conversations: learn how a business operates, where time and money are being lost, and where AI can realistically help.
  • Partner with the engineering team to scope solutions, shape proposals, and set honest expectations on timeline and cost.
  • Present Subterra's services and products — custom AI development, AI agents, workflow automation, private/on-prem AI, AI training, and AI-first websites.
  • Represent Subterra at events, workshops, and speaking engagements across Louisiana.
  • Keep the CRM accurate and report clearly on pipeline, forecasts, and what you are hearing in the market.
  • Stay close to clients after the sale so projects expand and referrals follow.

Required Experience

We are looking for someone who has actually carried a number:

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally selling software, IT services, technology consulting, or another considered purchase.
  • A track record of finding, working, and closing your own deals — not only managing inbound leads.
  • Comfort talking with business owners, operations leaders, and executives about how their business really runs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication: clear emails, clean proposals, and confident in-person meetings.
  • Enough technical curiosity to understand what AI can and cannot do, and to explain it in plain language without overselling.
  • Organized and self-directed, with the discipline to own your pipeline at a small-company pace.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for in-state travel.

Strong Bonus Skills

These are not all required, but they are valuable:

  • An existing network among Louisiana businesses, professional firms, schools, or public-sector organizations.
  • Experience selling SaaS, custom software, managed IT, or professional services engagements.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot in your own day-to-day work.
  • Experience with a CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Experience writing proposals or statements of work, or responding to RFPs.
  • Public speaking, workshop, or event experience.

What We're Looking For

The right person sells by understanding, not by pressure. You should be able to:

  • Understand a client's business before pitching anything.
  • Tell a prospect honestly when AI is not the right answer.
  • Translate a messy business problem into a clear opportunity the engineering team can scope.
  • Own your pipeline and your numbers without needing to be managed day to day.
  • Learn quickly as the technology and the market change.
  • Understand that the goal is not just a signed deal — it is a client who gets real value and comes back.

Compensation

Compensation will be a base salary plus commission on closed business, depending on experience and track record.

Location Requirement

This role is Louisiana-based only. You will meet business owners and decision-makers in person across the state, so you need to live in Louisiana and be comfortable traveling regionally for client meetings and events.
